Financial Systems Analyst I

Purpose of the role:

This position is within AXP Consolidation & Close Governance Team, roles & responsibilities includes as:

·         Leading AXP's Consolidation & Governance around Financial Close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for the AXP and it's subsidiaries to the US regulators like SEC, FRB, Tax Department etc. 

·         Support AXP Financial Close & Key Business initiatives by working closely with multiple stakeholders across Finance and technology

·         Maintain high accuracy and productivity standards with eye for details. Ensuring Control & Compliance

·         Collaborating with various stakeholders across Finance and Tech to understand and close any ongoing issues that may impact the close timelines

·         Ensuring financial integrity by reviewing financial information and resolving for any aberration in the financials

·         Working with technology for development / automation opportunities

·         Supporting external/internal auditors for queries and quarterly review requirements

Critical Factors to Success:

·         Ability to drive process and lead projects with not much supervision or guidance

·         Flexible, result driven and able to lead and influence without authority

·         Strong ability to understand complex issues and gain end to end knowledge of processes

·         Flexible to work in shifts as team require to have 24x7 support especially during the month close

·         Understanding of US GAAP would be an added advantage as team requires to closely work with reporting teams

Minimum Qualification:

·         CA / MBA / Post-Graduate with minimum 3-4 years of experience 

·         Team player with can do attitude

·         Good communications both verbal & written

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Have previously worked in Financial Accounting / Reporting

·         Understands financial consolidation and its complexities

·         Project management experience would be an added advantage

Technical Skills/Capabilities:

·         Good in Excel and presentations and other MS Office Applications

·         Analytical bent of mind

·         Knowledge of Platforms like; Oracle, Smartview, Essbase, Tableau or any other ERP or BI platform
