Financial Services Representative
Job Title: Financial Services Representative Job Description Serve as the primary escalation point for complex patient billing and account issues, collaborating with Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff to drive timely resolution. Lead daily team operations, including coaching, performance feedback, training, and onboarding of new team members. Monitor call quality, productivity, and performance metrics, using reports and Excel to identify trends and recommend process improvements. Partner cross-functionally with AR, coding, payment posting, and cash operations teams to resolve billing and payment discrepancies. Oversee patient account activity such as billing, follow-up, adjustments, refunds, discounts, and payment plans. Responsibilities + Manage outreach on delinquent and high-risk accounts to support collection and revenue cycle goals. + Handle patient billing inquiries through inbound and outbound calls, voicemail follow-up, and written correspondence. + Process and post payments, including credit card transactions, ensuring accurate allocation. + Review and reconcile credit balances to maintain regulatory and contractual compliance. + Maintain accurate patient, guarantor, and insurance records, including eligibility verification and claim readiness. + Analyze accounts receivable reports to identify opportunities to improve collections and maximize revenue. + Communicate workflow and policy updates clearly to the team. + Provide operational support during peak or critical staffing periods. + Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Essential Skills + Experience in accounts receivable, medical billing, and billing. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. + Experience with EHR systems. + Medical adjacent expereince is required. + Knowledge of insurance, invoicing, medical billing and coding. + Understanding of medical terminology and revenue cycle. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required. + 3+ years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle operations; orthopaedic experience strongly preferred. + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic billing systems. + Solid understanding of insurance processes, medical billing standards, and regulatory requirements. + Experience with electronic billing platforms required; ModMed experience is a plus. Work Environment The position is on-site in Bethesda, requiring attendance 5 days a week. Work hours are flexible between 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bethesda, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
