Financial Reporting Director
Description Job Title: Director, Financial Reporting Compensation: $160,000–$210,000 (Plus annual short-term incentive based on goals and scope of responsibility) My client is seeking a highly skilled Director, Financial Reporting to oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, ensure compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and maintain robust financial reporting processes. Working collaboratively across departments, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will take the lead on complex accounting issues, work closely with external auditors, and provide strategic insights into financial reporting processes. Key Responsibilities: + Support the month-end accounting close process, including recording journal entries. + Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial consolidations and develop consolidated financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, equity statements, and cash flow statements. + Analyze fluctuations in financial statements and report variances to management. + Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, as well as other regulatory and statutory reporting requirements. + Evaluate and provide accounting guidance on revenue and lease contracts, documenting technical conclusions. + Research, evaluate, and implement new accounting pronouncements. + Build and manage a high-performing team, fostering development and ensuring expectations are met. + Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors. + Assist with ERP system implementation projects and other special initiatives. + Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. + CPA designation is mandatory. + Typically 10+ years of progressive accounting experience. + Strong technical accounting expertise with extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP. + Experience with financial consolidations and external reporting processes preferred.
