Financial Reporting Consultant

We are seeking a Senior Finance Consultant for a fully remote contract role focused on rebuilding our financial reporting system from the ground up. As the company prepares for significant growth—expected to triple in size over the next few years—and positions itself for future acquisitions, we need an expert who can design a scalable, accurate, and efficient reporting infrastructure.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in SaaS financial reporting, strong command of NetSuite, and advanced Excel modeling capabilities. This role will lead the redesign of reporting frameworks, data flows, and KPI structures to support executive decision‑making and acquisition readiness.

This is a project‑based contract position.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Consultant to lead a full rebuild of our financial reporting infrastructure. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional with deep expertise in SaaS and Services business models, advanced financial reporting, and complex data architecture. The consultant will be responsible for redesigning our reporting framework end‑to‑end to improve accuracy, scalability, and decision‑support capabilities.

Responsibilities

Rebuild the company’s financial reporting system from the ground up, including structure, logic, data flows, and reporting outputs.Design and implement a robust reporting framework that supports monthly close, forecasting, budgeting, and executive‑level analytics.Develop automated, scalable reporting tools using advanced Excel modeling, including macros, Power Query, pivot‑based reporting, and database integrations.Establish standardized reporting packages for revenue, expenses, KPIs, SaaS metrics, and operational performance.Partner with Accounting to ensure reporting aligns with GAAP, revenue recognition, and operational data sources.Improve data quality and consistency by applying data management best practices and optimizing data pipelines.Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, Operations, and Leadership to ensure reporting outputs meet business needs and support strategic decision‑making.Document reporting processes, data definitions, and system logic to ensure long‑term maintainability.Essential SkillsProven experience rebuilding or significantly upgrading financial reporting systems.Expert‑level Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros/VBA, Power Query, and database connectivity.Strong background in SaaS and Services financial reporting, including ARR/MRR, churn, retention, margin analysis, and project‑based reporting.Deep understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and budgeting processes.Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.Strong data management capabilities, including structuring datasets, optimizing data flows, and ensuring data integrity.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree or certification is a plus.Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
