Financial Reorting Accountant
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Accountant to join our large publicly traded client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting various accounting processes. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting and a desire to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including entries related to fixed assets. • Assist in the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Support the accounting aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze and interpret financial data. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures. • Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy. • Prepare detailed reports and summaries for management review. • Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation as required. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a detail-oriented services environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis. • Experience handling fixed asset accounting and reporting. • Familiarity with accounting processes related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. • Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and practices. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
