Cindy at Robert Half is actively recruiting for an experienced and motivated Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A) to lead financial decision support and drive strategic initiatives across a dynamic, operations-intensive environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role collaborates across multiple departments—including Operations, Sales, Emergency Response, and Site Services—to ensure data-driven insights, proactive financial management, and alignment with organizational growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans in collaboration with department leads.
+ Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including KPIs, dashboards, and variance analysis, translating results into recommendations for leadership.
+ Design and maintain advanced financial models for pricing, margin optimization, capital investments, scenario planning, and strategic projects.
+ Analyze trends, cost drivers, and profitability by product line, customer segment, and geography to guide business and margin improvements.
+ Support month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and operating expense analysis.
+ Prepare board materials, executive presentations, and ad-hoc analyses for key initiatives and decisions.
+ Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced internal controls in a high-volume, logistics environment.
+ Monitor industry trends and factors impacting cost and revenue, such as market volatility and commodity pricing.
+ Ensure compliance with internal controls, support audit processes, and assist with M& A activity and strategic investments.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA/advanced degree preferred.
+ 3–7+ years of progressive FP& A, corporate finance, or financial analysis experience, ideally within distribution, energy, oil & gas, logistics, construction, or similar sectors.
+ Advanced Excel financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau, and ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP a plus.
+ Deep understanding of GAAP, financial statements, budgeting, and cash flow analysis.
+ Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.
+ Able to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
+ High integrity, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience with commodity pricing, inventory management, or variable cost structures preferred.
Preferred Attributes
+ Understanding of fuel/lubricant markets, hedging, or energy sector economics.
+ Experience in high-growth or acquisitive organizations.
+ Proactive, solution-oriented self-starter.
+ Investment banking or private equity experience is a plus.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or a related role, ideally within energy, logistics, or commodity-driven industries.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
• Strong knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Adaptive Insights, and Microsoft Excel.
• Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership teams.
• Solid understanding of corporate financial planning and strategic analysis.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with variable demand.
