The Financial Operations Manager will support the company’s financial planning and decision-making processes by delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights to the executive team. This role will be responsible for identifying business trends, tracking key performance metrics, and performing cause-and-effect analysis on a range of complex financial and operational issues. The Financial Operations Manager will play a hands-on role in monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc reporting to help drive strategic and operational initiatives. This role will operate with versatility across functions to drive value across the Company.
1. Serve as a highly versatile problem solver who is hands on across different functions.
2. Develop financial modeling, reporting, and dashboards, analyze financial statements to measure business performance against targets.
3. Identify and explain key cause and effect of financial variances.
4. Conduct research and analysis of the business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments.
5. Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization. Create presentations and reports that provide insight into performance, findings, trends, etc.
6. Work with management to review, analyze, and provide recommendations regarding cost savings, profit generating opportunities and/or profitability improvement strategies to existing operations.
7. Prepare monthly financial reporting package and key performance metrics for senior management.
8. Assist with the budget process including communication of the budget timeline, creating budget templates, creating and maintaining budget roll-up files, and preparing budget deliverables. This includes both departmental and capital budgets.
9. Implement financial tools, reporting mechanisms, business modeling, and financial planning processes that are streamlined, timely, and accurate.
10. Ensure internal reporting of key performance metrics for the company and its subsidiaries is established on a standardized and consistent basis to support operational integrity and growth.
11. Build and maintain sophisticated financial models with scenario analysis to assess risks and opportunities.
12. Conduct peer analysis comparing KPIs to the Company.
13. Support the implementation of automation and AI solutions to streamline processes and enhance decision making across the organization.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or other related field with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in financial planning and analysis is required. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint is required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and functions is required. This job will require working with different datasets and thoughtful Excel logic to provide quick analysis to provide meaningful and accurate insight.
Experience with IBM Planning Analytics is a plus. Understanding of accounting processes, procedures, and controls. Must be a detail-oriented and organized self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Continuously improve existing financial processes and reporting. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all financial models and reports. Ability to check and review work before providing to management.
