Your Role

The purpose of this role is to produce a high-quality work product through effective investigating, reserving, and adjusting of claims within your client base.

Your Responsibilities:

Analyse first report of claim, suit or underlying material to determine nature of loss, coverage provided and scope of damageConduct or direct needed investigation relative to all aspects of reported claims. Secure and/or file all supporting documentation and verify same for accuracy, relationship and completenessEstablish accurate and timely reservesMaintain active diary to achieve timely development of file and timely dispositionProvide exceptional service standards in line with best practice guidelinesPractice sound litigation controls over counselPromptly and properly document all developments in claim fileMeet with appropriate parties to litigation or claims, as necessary, to resolve issuesEffectively communicate with the following: Claim Department, Customer Services, Loss Control, Underwriting Departments, brokers, insureds, counsel, third parties and/or their legal representativesMay direct claim representatives to participate in file development and subrogationAdhere to Insurance Contracts Act and all other relevant statutory rules and regulationsEffectively control the use, work product and expenses of outside vendorsExercise good judgement in reaching final disposition of claim by evaluating nature of loss, liability, injury/damage, coverage provided and applicable limitsParticipate in branch marketing efforts
