As the Financial Counselor, under the direction of the Director of Patient Access and/or coordinator, you will assist the uninsured and underinsured patient population in applying for public assistance programs. Ensure that all necessary information is collected and verified prior to billing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Verify patients' self-pay status  Obtain accurate insurance information from patients Complete Mass Health, NH applications and/or Self-Pay as applicable Discharged patients are scheduled to come into the office and complete applications Will travel throughout the hospital helping under or non-insured patients.  Candidates must be comfortable being in the ER, floors, bedside etc.) The person needs to be highly independent and organized. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

High School diploma or equivalent. CAC certified/willing to get CAC certified Computer experience. Weekends and holidays may be required.

English/Spanish bilingual
