Location: Oradea, Romania

Reports to: Finance Manager / General Manager / CFO

Role Overview
The Financial Controller will ensure financial and operational control over all hospitality-related activities, monitor costs, and maximize profitability in line with the organization’s policies and objectives. The role involves daily financial reconciliation, budget management, advanced management reporting, and close collaboration with operational departments to support business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Financial Control:

Verify and reconcile all daily financial transactions (payments, invoices, advances, receipts) Compare sales reports from various departments (front office, restaurant, bar, etc.) with system data Oversee the daily operational closing in the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS). Generate daily financial reports (revenue report, occupancy report, bank report, etc.). Check cash balances and reconcile them with supporting documents. Report any discrepancies or errors to management.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Prepare, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts. Track revenues and expenses, identifying variances from the budget.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Coordinate financial recording and reporting activities. Conduct periodic financial analyses (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, etc.). Oversee and control pricing policies, discounts, and operational costs.

Internal Audit & Compliance:

Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with financial and operational procedures. Participate in the development of policies to optimize resources and reduce costs.

Inventory & Stock Control:

Supervise inventory and stock management in collaboration with F&B and Housekeeping departments.

Management Reporting:

Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial and operational reports for senior management, including daily, weekly, and monthly performance summaries. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to hospitality operations, providing actionable insights and highlighting trends or areas of concern. Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, investigating significant deviations and providing clear explanations and recommendations. Utilize business intelligence tools and advanced Excel techniques to create dashboards and visual reports that support strategic decision-making. Respond promptly to management requests for ad-hoc analysis and reports, supporting business initiatives and special projects. Present financial findings and recommendations to management and other key stakeholders clearly and concisely. Continuously review and enhance reporting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and the relevance of information provided to management. Work closely with operational departments to ensure data integrity and to gather qualitative insights that complement quantitative analysis.

System Utilization:

Efficiently use ERP and PMS software (e.g., Opera, Micros).

Ideal candidate profile

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics. Professional certifications (CECCAR/ACCA) are an advantage. 3–5 years of experience in a similar role (Financial Control / Financial Analysis). Previous experience in the hospitality industry (hotels, restaurants, HoReCa) is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Advanced knowledge of financial accounting. Advanced use of PMS (preferably Opera) and ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills.

Personal Skills:

Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Ability to identify and correct discrepancies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with operational teams (F&B, front office, housekeeping). Proactive in identifying optimization and cost-reduction solutions.
