Our Australia & New Zealand operations is a $0.5B business within the Asia Pacific & Middle East Africa Region. Across Australia and New Zealand, we support a broad portfolio spanning life sciences, diagnostics, analytical instruments, laboratory products, and specialty services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial management and reporting for Thermo Fisher Scientific in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring that all financial records and systems are maintained in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations in a dynamic and growing region of our global organization.

Oversee financial management and reporting for the ANZ region, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local and international standardsManage financial policies, controls, and procedures to maintain the integrity of financial dataCollaborate with the Global Business Support (GBS) team to ensure smooth operations in Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash processesProvide strategic financial guidance to ANZ leadership to support business growth and operational efficiencyLead and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvementImplement robust internal control systems and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and US GAAPPartner with business leaders to drive financial performance and achieve short and long-term objectivesPrepare and present financial reports, analyses, and forecasts to senior management and global finance teamsSupport internal and external audit processes, ensuring transparency and adherence to compliance standardsDrive process improvements and leverage financial systems to enhance efficiency and data accuracy

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CA qualification strongly preferred10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleExtensive knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local ANZ accounting standards and regulationsStrong understanding of financial management, reporting, internal controls, and complianceProven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teamsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insightsOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and cross-functional teamsExperience working in a global, matrix organization preferredProficiency in ERP systems, financial modeling, and data analytics toolsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs

Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting systemsStrong leadership and mentoring capabilitiesExcellent project management and organizational skillsAbility to influence and drive change across the organizationDeep understanding of business operations and their financial implicationsProactive approach to identifying and mitigating financial risks
