Financial Analyst Supervisor

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our finance team, you’ll oversee grant financial management from start to finish, guide a team of Financial Analysts, and partner closely with program leadership and executive staff.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and coordinate the daily workflow of Financial AnalystsOversee grant expenditures to ensure proper classification and compliance with funder requirementsPartner with Financial Analysts and Program Managers to produce timely, accurate financial reports for fundersCoordinate monitoring visits with funders alongside Program Managers and Vice PresidentsCollaborate with the Accounting/Payroll Manager during monthly financial closingsWork with the Budget and Controls Manager on budget development, revisions, and adjustmentsIdentify, analyze, and report budget variances and financial deviations to the Budget and Controls Manager and CFOPrepare and review variance analyses and financial summariesEnsure all funder reports are completed and submitted on or before deadlinesMaintain and update cost allocation tables as part of the monthly closeReview and validate financial data in program balance sheets and income statementsSupport monthly and annual close processes, audits, and fund closingsReview journal entries prepared by Financial Analysts and prepare entries as neededMaintain and improve departmental policies and proceduresProvide support to the CFO on special projects and initiativesWhat You BringEssential QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent nonprofit accounting/managerial experienceAt least 5 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory roleStrong knowledge of Federal and State funding regulationsSolid understanding of GAAPAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of MS WordExperience using financial and accounting softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with a customer-service mindsetAbility to analyze data, manage multiple priorities, and work proactivelyProven leadership and staff supervision abilitiesPreferred Skills & ExperienceFamiliarity with Blackbaud / Financial EdgeHands-on experience with budgeting, grant management, and financial reportingAbility to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial staffWork Environment & ScheduleOnsite role in a professional office/cubicle environment35 hours per week, Monday–Friday8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch breakWhy Join Us?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $27.83/hr.
