Job Description

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Coordinator, Finance & Administration, to join our French Services News & Current Affairs team.

 

Your role is to conduct analysis and research of financial information and other non-financial data to support News & Current Affairs operations, acting as co-ordinator for budget tracking and other financial aspects. You work with Finance & Administration and News & Current Affairs to gather information that supports the results of their analysis. You ensure accuracy and completeness of data across the various systems required for the News department’s financial management. Lastly, you provide administrative and financial support to the department’s senior manager and director.

 

Key Responsibilities

Be responsible for planning, budgeting and producing financial statements for the programs under your responsibility, ensuring the integrity of all data.

Conduct analysis and prepare monthly budget forecasts, identifying and commenting on significant variances.

Track and control production costs.

Interpret and enforce policies, standards, methods and recognized accounting practices.

Investigate and resolve administrative issues (time cards, invoices, purchase orders, etc.).

Help develop and enhance tools and processes to improve departmental efficiency.

Work on implementing the new Oracle financial system.

Assist the senior manager or director with all ad hoc requests.

 

Qualifications (What You Bring):

University degree in accounting or equivalent.

Professional accounting designation (or currently working toward); CPA an asset.

Two or more years’ relevant experience.

Proficiency with the appropriate computer systems (SAP, Oracle, Excel, Workday, Cognos).

Excellent command of spoken and written French.

Proficiency in English an asset.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Superior investigative and analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement strategies for improvement.

Ability to get organized, set priorities and balance competing business needs within reporting deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well under pressure.

Good judgment.

Comfort participating in and/or adapting to change.
