Job Title: Financial Analyst
Job Description
Join a dynamic finance team within a prestigious academic research institution's department of Psychiatry. As a Financial Analyst, you will provide vital financial support to 10 Principal Investigators, managing a diverse portfolio of funds and offering expert financial guidance. Your role includes ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and compliance with departmental, university, and agency policies.
Responsibilities
Provide analytical support for complex budget, financial, and resource analysis for sponsored research funding.Prepare financial analyses, summarize findings, and present recommendations for resource plans to faculty and management.Develop annual resource allocation strategies, forecast future needs, and manage operating budgets.Support all aspects of fund management, including internal and external contracts, gift donations, endowments, and sponsored research funding.Conduct complex financial research for internal departments and stakeholders, including periodic financial reports and projections for payroll budgets.Perform student enrollment analysis and recharge/general rate calculations.Analyze contracts and grants, manage UCPath administration, and monitor endowment income.Generate, modify, and develop new financial and resource reports using MyReports, Planning Link to UPlan System (PLUS), and other financial tools.Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards and timely recording of financial transactions.Prepare, review, and approve financial transactions and post financial journal entries.Provide department support in business process analysis and design, system testing and implementation, and documentation for financial activities.Assist with security, workflow, and customer feedback for financial processes.Coordinate and implement department budget allocations and maintain department chart of accounts.Essential Skills

This is a 100% remote role with working hours from 9 am to 5 pm PST.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
