Job Title: Financial Analyst

Job Description

This Financial Analyst role supports core financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and analysis activities within a large international manufacturing environment. You will assist with financial modeling, data collection, and data accuracy checks while maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with internal policies. The position offers hands-on training, mentorship, and the opportunity to convert to a permanent role, while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities

Support financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting activities for the business.Assist with financial modeling, including data collection, validation, and accuracy checks.Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Complete ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned by Sr. finance leadership.Support initiatives to improve efficiency and ways of working, demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing finance team and support ongoing development for yourself and colleagues.Understand and support business analytics, waste reporting, month-end closing activities, and financial projections.Process journal entries and analyze cost allocations to ensure accurate financial reporting.Calculate plant inefficiency and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Own financial results for assigned areas and clearly explain the story behind the numbers to stakeholders.Collaborate closely with the Sr. Financial Analyst to align on priorities, deliverables, and reporting requirements.Leverage digital tools and technology to drive operational efficiencies and improve reporting processes.Build and maintain dashboards and reports, ideally using tools such as Power BI, to support data-driven decision-making.

Essential Skills

1–3 years of experience in a Financial Analyst position, with a focus on reporting and analysis.CPG (consumer packaged goods) finance experience.Experience working with SAP or another large ERP system.Advanced Excel skills, including SUMIFS, complex IF statements, VLOOKUPS, and pivot tables.Strong financial analysis and financial reporting skills.Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.Digitalization mindset, with the ability to leverage technology for operational efficiencies.Relevant Canadian work experience in a financial analyst capacity.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Economics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to build dashboards and reports using Power BI (preferred).Experience in a large manufacturing or production environment.Comfort working with large data sets and complex ERP data structures.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results and insights clearly.Collaborative working style, with the ability to partner effectively with Sr. finance leadership and cross-functional teams.Proactive approach to process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

This role sits within the finance team of a large international manufacturing organization and offers exposure to plant operations and production data. The position follows a standard full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime not generally expected. The work model is flexible, with the ability to work remotely while being available to attend in-office meetings with leadership as needed. The environment is collaborative and development-focused, with hands-on training and mentorship available and the potential to convert from contract to a permanent role. You will work extensively with SAP or another large ERP system, advanced Excel tools, and may use Power BI for dashboarding and reporting. The dress code is business casual.
