Financial Analyst

Position Summary: 

A Penske Financial Analyst for the Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) department provides analysis and related metrics for FPA’s ongoing financial reporting and financial forecasting responsibilities. The position will require the following:

Ability to maintain & improve financial models that explain the key drivers of Penske’s financial performance through Microsoft Excel. 

Willingness to learn new technology and data visualization techniques.

Identify and institute Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enable the quantification and explanation of the drivers of any given set of general ledger financial accounts across the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements.

Ability to collaborate with senior leaders across the company to monitor & communicate company performance, organize company planning and empower leaders in managing their business.

This role will also have opportunities to take on data visualization projects using software packages such as Tableau, Qlik, and PowerBI.

Major Responsibilities: 

-Query and analyze data for trends that impact the 3 financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow)

-Prepare ongoing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.

-Communicate & present financial metrics to senior leadership.

-Participate in identifying & building process for revenue and cost recovery opportunities.

-Other projects, tasks and ad-hoc requests as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting required.

• Excellent data management and working knowledgebase required.

• Strong Analytical and presentation skills required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain financial data to all levels of organization.

• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Powerpoint required.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
