This role involves working Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, totaling 35 hours a week with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. As a Financial Analyst, you will be part of the Accounting & Finance Team, collaborating closely with the Financial Analyst and Grants team. The position is a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity where you will support the organization's needs by offering technical and financial assistance to the Audit - Budget - Internal Controls Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing budget documents for grant applications, revisions, and business projects. This role requires active participation and leadership in project work teams, utilizing your knowledge in accounting, budgeting, and financial trend analysis.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop initial budget templates for new, renewal, or revised budgets.Review internal budgets for approval, ensuring projections of staff allocations and costs comply with OMB guidelines.Coordinate with Department Heads and Program staff to balance internal budgets before final submission.Conduct budget analysis for budget revisions.Formulate budget projections and recommend adjustments to Program Managers.Complete budget forms for grant applications and funding requests.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential SkillsProficiency in budget management, budget analysis, and grants.Experience in budget planning and audit support.Ability to work with program teams to create and adjust budgets.Familiarity with G.A.A.P and basic accounting functions.High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and macros.Strong writing skills for integrating financial reports with funding requests.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business preferred, or a combination of education and experience.Minimum of two years of related accounting experience in a nonprofit agency.Three years of experience in analytical and problem-solving skills preferred.Knowledge of GAAP and Federal and State funding regulations preferred.Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills.Effective communication and customer service skills.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an office setting, emphasizing a work-life balance.
