What We Offer Job Title: Financial Analyst – Operational Finance (Greater Charlotte Market) Monday- Friday 8-5PM : Hybrid 3 days in office 2 days remote Position Summary The Financial Analyst supports the operational and financial performance of the Greater Charlotte Market (GCM) through detailed financial analysis, reporting, and collaboration with clinical and operational leaders. This role has a strong focus on operational finance, including medical group (clinic) and acute care environments, and is responsible for month-end close activities, productivity analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and special projects. The analyst serves as a financial liaison to assigned clinics, departments, or service lines, translating financial results into actionable insights to help leaders meet budgeted and productivity targets. This position regularly presents analyses to senior leadership and supports strategic and operational decision-making. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close & Accounting Support + Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and application of basic accounting principles (debits and credits). + Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and variance analyses. + Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used for reporting and analysis. Operational & Productivity Analysis + Develop, maintain, and enhance financial and operational analyses related to clinical and departmental performance. + Perform detailed analysis of financial results, “digging into” variances, trends, and drivers, and reporting findings to senior leadership. + Review and analyze department and provider productivity, with a heavy focus on acute care productivity metrics. + Partner with department and service line leaders to understand performance gaps and help identify opportunities to meet operational and financial goals. Budgeting & Forecasting + Work closely with operational leaders to develop annual budgets and forecasts. + Support leaders in managing to budget and achieving financial and productivity targets throughout the year. + Assist with monitoring budget performance and explaining variances. Pro Forma, Benchmarking & Special Projects + Develop pro forma financial analyses for new providers, services, efficiencies, capital expenditures, and other strategic initiatives. + Perform benchmarking analyses to evaluate performance relative to internal targets and external peers. + Support special projects by extracting and analyzing financial and operational data from decision support systems (e.g., Strata or similar tools). Decision Support & Communication + Serve as a financial liaison to assigned clinics, departments, or service lines. + Review, interpret, analyze, and present financial information to a wide range of stakeholders, including executives, administrators, physicians, clinic administrators, and department leaders. + Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-finance audiences. Strategic & Business Development Support + Analyze new business development opportunities, including joint ventures, acquisitions, and service expansions. + Assist leadership with financial, utilization, and resource management improvement initiatives, including cost containment and revenue growth opportunities. Additional Responsibilities + Collaborate with and provide training to department managers and executive leadership to improve understanding and use of financial data. + Administer and support physician compensation models. + Perform other duties, both major and minor, as assigned. Required Skills & Competencies + Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements + Experience with operational finance, productivity analysis, and budgeting + Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data + Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly with non-financial stakeholders + Ability to work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and executive leaders + Proficiency with financial systems, decision support tools, and Excel-based analysis Preferred Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, required + Healthcare finance experience, particularly in medical group and/or acute care settings + Experience with decision support systems such as Strata + Experience developing pro formas and benchmarking analyses Job Opening ID 133993
