Description We are looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Reno, Nevada. In this role, you will focus on enhancing financial reporting processes and designing tools to support long-term budget planning and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: • Create comprehensive five-year budget projection templates that integrate historical data, forecasted revenues, and projected expenses across divisions and funding streams. • Collaborate with organizational leadership to provide clear and detailed financial projections that support strategic and fiscal decision-making. • Develop standardized monthly financial reports for the Board of Health, presenting funding streams, expenditures, and trends in an accessible format. • Identify and address financial variances, risks, and gaps, offering actionable recommendations for budget adjustments or programmatic changes. • Transition existing financial data from manual spreadsheets into user-friendly templates to improve accuracy and efficiency. • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI to enhance financial visualization and reporting. • Ensure financial data is transparent and easily interpretable by all stakeholders within the organization. • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and insights to support immediate and long-term organizational needs. • Conduct variance analysis to pinpoint discrepancies and optimize budgetary planning. • Apply data mining techniques to uncover trends and inform financial strategies. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or a related field. • Proficiency in financial modeling and creating projection templates. • Strong skills in variance analysis and ad hoc financial reporting. • Experience with data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formula creation. • Familiarity with Power BI for visualizing financial data. • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to present complex financial information clearly. • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
