1. **This position may be filled as a Financial Analyst III, Lead or Sr Lead depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.**
**Job Summary/Purpose:**
The product financial analyst is responsible for providing expert financial advice and information to support the product team. This role is essential in helping the organization develop, manage, and improve its products and services within the complex regulatory environment. The product financial analyst provides analytical support, assisting with the financial forecast, modeling and business case development, presentations, reporting, and controls, as well as highlighting key issues and identifying items that may impact profitability.
**Job Duties/Responsibilities:**
**Data Collection and Analysis:**
+ Gather and analyze data from various sources, such as accounting and finance, operational metrics, and regulatory reports.
+ Employ strong analytical skills to manipulate large, unstructured datasets to support ad hoc analysis and various presentations.
+ Ensure financial activity contains accurate information and is executed timely by monitoring, maintaining and completing key financial functions.
+ Identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform product strategy and decision-making.
**Financial Forecasts:**
+ Build financial models and support business case development.
+ Communicate and collaborate with other departments, including finance and regulatory, to gather assumptions and information and validate models and results.
**Financial Performance Tracking:**
+ Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track the performance of the products and services, including key metrics such as revenue, O&M and capital.
+ Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to the product team.
**Risk and Compliance:**
+ Lead compliance activities of product function and ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met.
+ Communicate with finance to help them better understand the risk of certain projects and/or investments.
**Cross Functional Collaboration**
+ Work closely with the product team, customer insights and journey, marketing, sales, and operating company customer service teams to provide financial data-driven insights and support product-related initiatives.
+ Communicate findings and recommendations and create presentations effectively to various stakeholders, including senior management.
**Minimum Requirements**
**Minimum education required of the position:**
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
**Minimum experience required of the position:**
+ Financial Analyst III: 3 - 5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, banking or the relevant field.
+ Financial Analyst Lead: 5+ years of professional experience in finance, accounting, banking or the relevant field.
+ Financial Analyst, Sr Lead: 6 plus years of business experience finance, accounting, or related fields; graduate degree is a plus
**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:**
**Technical Skills**
+ Strong data collection, analysis, and interpretation skills, with the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
+ Knowledge of financial theory and valuation.
+ Ability to understand and solve complex financial transactions.
+ Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
Any **certificates, licenses, etc** . required for the position
+ CPA, CFA, PE or similar certificates/licenses are a plus.
