Financial Analyst
Financial Analysts help construct a holistic understanding of financial activity at the University. They may focus on the performance of specific schools or units, or of specific functions, such as budgeting, auditing, planning, taxes, and treasury. They conduct assigned financial studies, collecting, analyzing, and presenting financial information. They assist in preparing recommendations for policies, procedures, controls, or actions. They may interpret and apply financial policies and accounting theory. They prepare standard and special studies, reports, analyses. They make recommendations in areas such as governmental requirements, statistical reports, and business forecasts. Work is conducted independently.

Assess income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for the University, and research financial information to make well-informed decisions about future investments.Assess the University's past performance to provide an estimate of future performance. Study financial data to prepare forecasts of economic conditions and prepare financial reports.Analyze returns on assets to measure profitability.Analyze information influencing investment programs, including price, yield, stability, future trends in investment risks, and economic influences.Follow crucial economic, industrial, and corporate movements by analyzing financial information such as balance sheets, investment banking firms reports, government agency and trade publications, company sources, and personal interviews.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Additional duties:
Transactional Accuracy – requisitions, journals and PO., completion within 24 hours; with high level of accuracy
End of year readiness, faculty support and responsiveness with all financially related questions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred 
Experience: At least one year of experience.
Licensure: CMA, CFA, CTP, or CPA is typically acquired while in the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
