Pay Rate: $45 Location: Toronto ON Job Type: Contract Our client, a large financial institution, is seeking an Senior Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity, with high potential for extension.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and one floating day) at the downtown office. The role supports the Finance Controllership team with a focus on financial reporting integrity, loan accounting, and complex accounting investigations.

Responsibilities
o Execute detailed loan contract accounting reviews
o Perform financial analysis and provide variance explanations
o Investigate accounting and control-related issues
o Support reconciliations and month-end close processes
o Ensure integrity of financial reporting and control environment
o Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes

Must-Have Requirements
o 4+ years of experience within financial services institutions
o Advanced Excel skills (formulas, VBA, Macros)
o Strong experience investigating accounting issues and financial controls
o Ability to manage large data sets with high attention to detail
o Experience operating independently in a controllership environment

Nice-to-Have
o Experience with loan loss provisions or insurance accounting
o Experience with GL systems (Peoplesoft, SAP, Oracle)
o Strong knowledge of financial controls
o CPA or equivalent with strong IFRS and financial reporting knowledge
o Exposure to ACBS

Education & Certifications
o Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) preferred
