What You’ll Be Doing
When you join our CPA Pre-Approved Rotational Program you will work under the leadership of seasoned professionals in three different areas of CIBC. This 3-year program supports your journey to achieving the CPA designation.

Throughout the 3-year program you will be assigned 12-month rotations in Internal Audit, Finance and an Elective area of your choice.
In Year 1, you’ll have an opportunity to gain Assurance experience by planning and conducting risk-based audits while rotating through multiple audit teams that support different lines of business and building your knowledge of CIBC businesses.
In Year 2, you’ll be accountable for financial analysis and reporting, including the preparation, consolidation and reconciliation of financial information and the development of new or enhanced reporting systems, policies, procedures and controls to meet user requirements and changing circumstances.
In Year 3, based on your preferred area of focus you will have a chance to broaden or deepen your experience with assurance, accounting, taxation or other pre-approved roles to meet the final CPA competency requirements while planning for your next career role at CIBC.
Important Information
You must be registered with CPA Ontario and be eligible for enrolment in, or be already enrolled in, CPA Ontario's Professional Education Program (PEP).
You have a strong academic record
You are working towards your CPA designation and will be eligible to write the Common Final Examination (CFE) in September 2025 or May 2026.

You will be partnered with a mentor at CIBC who is a CPA professional and will support you throughout the 3-year program in your completion of the CPA competencies.
We will support you in writing the CFE, from flexibility for study time, financial support, and resources to help in your preparation.
It’s hands-on, so you will get the real-life experience you need to complete your CPA designation, while also preparing for future career opportunities at CIBC.
