Financial Analyst, BR Stores Finance
Description Amazon seeks a detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join our Stores Finance team in a new and exciting role focused on leading inventory management and cost to serve initiatives. In this position, you will be a defect hunter and eliminator, creating mechanisms to find, monitor, and eliminate defects in our cost to serve processes. You will work cross-functionally with Retail Inventory business, Operations teams, and Customer Returns departments to improve processes that directly impact customer experience. This is an opportunity to make a significant difference in our journey to improve operational efficiency while enhancing customer satisfaction through the right selection, best speed, and defect-free processes. You will pioneer this new role by establishing routines and mechanisms that drive measurable improvements in inventory management, fraud prevention, and cost reduction initiatives. Key job responsibilities Create and implement data-driven mechanisms to identify, monitor, and eliminate defects in cost to serve processes, working closely with Retail Inventory managers and customer experience teams Dive deep into inventory management data to proactively identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities Build and maintain financial models and reporting dashboards that provide actionable insights on fraud, abuse, and customer returns metrics Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Experience, and Retail Business teams to implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency Present findings and recommendations to business leaders that influence data-driven decision making to improve financially sustainable Customer Experience Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience - Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence - Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field - Experience in accounts receivable or account payable - Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses - Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis - Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes - Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience - Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, or experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
