Financial Accountant - Global Payroll

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accountant to lead the Global Payroll Accounting team through developing new processes, enhancing existing controls, and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll related transactions.


In this role, you will:

Act as lead Consultant for financial accounting related matters for lines of business and other control functionsProvide technical expertise regarding accounting issues, regulatory information and researchProvide technical assistance on major transactions and product developmentPerform ledger reconciliation, settlement and deposits of payroll paymentsInvoicing and funding of deductions, taxes, wires, GL expensesProvide data for preparing and reviewing financial and regulatory reportsCommunicate practices and procedures for proper financial controlArticulate the impact of policy changes to management within business group or enterprisePerform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with the company's internal controls policiesApply extensive specialized knowledge and act as internal consultantLead implementation of complex projects and initiatives impacting one or more lines of businessIdentify compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and may support implementation of key risk initiativesCommunicate and provide consultation regularly with more experienced stakeholders throughout the enterprise


Required Qualifications:

2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

2+ years’ experience in payroll2+ years’ experience with accounting softwareExperience with balance sheet reconciliationsAdvanced Excel Skills working with large data setsExperience working with Workday Payroll.Ability to take initiative, identify and present process/operational enhancementsPartner with project teams and IT developers to automate complex manual processesStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy


Job Expectations:

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
