Finance and Accounting
Responsible for managing and administering the finance and accounting function including commercial.
For accounting, this includes functions that are performed to meet accounting and financial reporting requirements that result from legal obligations or SAP internal policies/processes/guidelines.
For finance function, this includes providing the F&A Community with guidelines, standardized processes and services, taking over the responsibility for centralized tasks and activities.
For Finance, this may include functions related to key finance areas. This may include overseeing and managing revenue recognition, commissions, order management, contracts, accounts receivable, treasury management, or additional functions.
For commercial business partnering this includes activities like deal approval coordination, advising on deal structure, providing detailed pricing information, identifying risk and revenue recognition issues and finding practical commercial solutions to meet the needs of the business while not compromising on compliance, all administrative activities of contract - and offer preparation, assessment, clearing and settlement, including consulting and process activities in the framework of commercial business support.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Serve as a strategic finance role, supporting the Japan CFO and acting as a liaison among internal and external stakeholders including the GFA Japan team, regional and global teams, other board areas, auditors, and customers/partners. Assist with annual financial audits, preparation for year-end closing, and proactively monitor and address critical business issues such as billing, cash collections, system operations, and related concerns. Resolve complex issues independently, exercising sound judgment with minimal guidance. Function as the central point of contact for the Japan CFO’s office, providing comprehensive ad-hoc support as required and managing scheduling with both internal and external stakeholders. Manage communications, including executive briefings, meeting coordination, and the preparation of presentations, correspondence, and related documents for various internal and external purposes. Deliver operational management support to the Japan CFO by preparing for, executing, and following up on strategic meetings and initiatives with relevant stakeholders. Lead and support the execution of transformational projects in the capacity of PMO, encompassing both GFA and Japan Strategy-related initiatives. Organize and facilitate executive visits, GFA all-employee meetings, leadership calls, and other key engagements. Support comprehensive customer engagements through close collaboration with all pertinent stakeholders. Review and provide recommendations for deal, expense, or budget-related approvals by engaging with multiple parties to assess transaction health and uphold SAP’s strategic interests, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and IT enhancements, and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and present proposals accordingly.
Experience Requirement
At least 3 years’ experience in the finance or operation areas, and in customer facing arrangements with a proven performance track record Good consulting skills for solving the customer requests to provide the best solution for customer and SAP’s interests Strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges and technologies Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse teams. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to convey complex information clearly. Good in preparing decisions (as well as decision papers /management summaries for Top Management) and taking decisions within the given boundaries. Good understanding of most Deal Support topics Strong team player Good service, customer, and solution orientation Good knowledge about the various business scenarios and the respective process flows and contact points CPA or MBA is a plus Fluent both in English and Japanese
