Description Overview: A privately held investment management firm is seeking a Financial Operations Associate or Manager to join its lean and collaborative team. With a strong institutional client base and a focus on operational excellence, the firm offers a dynamic environment where cross-functional expertise is valued. This role supports key financial, HR, and compliance functions and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on setting. Role Summary: Reporting to the firm’s senior leadership, this position plays a central role in maintaining smooth internal operations. The successful candidate will work closely with external vendors and internal teams to manage accounting processes, payroll, benefits, HR administration, and compliance support. The role offers exposure to a broad range of responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to strategic projects. Key Responsibilities:  Accounting & Finance: + Manage accounts payable and receivable processes + Oversee payroll operations and annual reconciliations + Support compensation and benefits administration + Review monthly financial packages and assist with budgeting and forecasting + Prepare documentation for audits and tax filings + Assist with internal financial reporting and analysis HR & Administration: + Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding + Administer HR policies and employee handbook + Liaise with benefits providers and support renewals Compliance & Projects: + Support regulatory filings and internal controls + Assist with compliance documentation and reporting + Contribute to vendor transitions and operational improvements Additional Details: + This is an in-office role based in San Mateo, CA; candidates must reside in the Bay Area and be available to work onsite approximately four days per week + Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications + Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k), and profit sharing + Support for professional development, including reimbursement for CFA exam completion Excited about this opportunity?
