Brief DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to provide strong financial and business leadership, ensuring accountability, transparency, and sustainable financial management across the school. In this critical leadership role, you will safeguard the financial health and long-term sustainability of the school while supporting strategic decision-making and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing and managing the School s day-to-day financial operations. Reviewing, developing, and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes for the school and its centersEnsuring compliance with University, regulatory, and reporting requirements.Providing financial insights, modelling, and strategic recommendations to support decision-making. Partnering with academic and administrative stakeholders to optimise performance, efficiency, and resource allocation.Managing grants, donor funding, and externally funded projects, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.Leading, mentoring, and managing the finance team to achieve high performance.Minimum requirements
Academic Qualifications and experience
B.com Accounting/Finance Postgraduate qualification.CA(SA) / and/or relevant Master s in Finance, Accounting, or Management.Completed SAICA Articles (Recommended).10 years, with 5 years at a senior finance level with 3 years team management experience.Technical Competencies
Advanced knowledge of IFRS, IAS, ISA, and financial controls.Financial Strategy development and implementation, including Financial Modelling Skills.Strong financial analysis, reporting, and advisory skills.Proficiency in ERP systems, reporting, and budgeting tools. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.Experience in grants and donor funding management, including compliance and reporting. Familiarity with financial controls, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
