ChristianaCare is hiring a Finance Manager for our Multi-Specialty Medical Group.
As a Finance Manager you would be responsible for financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting across multiple service lines, ensuring fiscal accountability and decision-making.
This is an onsite position at our Avenue North location in Wilmington, DE.
The ideal candidate should have strong collaboration skills, data analytics, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, Microsoft Excel proficiency, excellent communication, attention to detail, healthcare reimbursement, value-based care models, and operational benchmarking.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Budgeting
Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting process for assigned practices and service lines.
Partner with operational and clinical leadership to align financial plans with strategic goals, volume forecasts, and resource needs.
Develop pro forma models for new initiatives, physician recruitment, and service line expansion.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Analyze monthly financial statements, identify variances from budget/forecast, and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare and present financial performance dashboards and operational KPIs (e.g., provider productivity, cost per encounter, contribution margin).
Support physician compensation modeling, FTE planning, and RVU performance monitoring.
Business Support & Decision-Making
Serve as a finance business partner to practice administrators, department chairs, and Medical Group leadership.
Participate in strategic planning and operational improvement efforts, including care model redesign, access expansion, and digital transformation.
Provide financial input for contract negotiations, including payer contracts and professional service agreements.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit standards, and regulatory requirements related to financial management.
Monitor revenue cycle and billing performance trends in collaboration with the Revenue Integrity and Managed Care teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Finance, or a related discipline preferred. CPA, CMA, or HFMA certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in financial management, ideally within a healthcare provider organization or academic medical center. Demonstrated experience supporting multi-specialty physician practices or ambulatory care operations.
Deep understanding of provider compensation models, healthcare cost accounting, RVUs, and productivity benchmarks.
Prior experience working in a matrixed, multisite, or integrated health system environment strongly preferred.
