Finance Manager - CapEx Investments

**This is a newly created, high-impact, and high-visibility role with direct exposure to the C Suite and Senior Leadership.**
• Own and lead the development and execution of the Capital Value Framework — measuring ROI on both day-to-day capital needs (e.g., DC assets) and strategic investments (e.g., IT buildouts)
• Assess the current state, identify gaps, and build solutions.
• Oversee the governance process, including budget setting, due diligence and risk/benefit analysis, business case modeling, policy and accounting compliance (GAAP/IFRS)
• Lead capital investment reporting to senior leadership
• Be responsible for educating business partners, ensuring consistent modeling assumptions, and understanding of financial standards
• Manage and/or hire an Analyst (team of 2 total)

**Required Skills & Experience -**
+ 5–6+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in capital planning, corporate finance, or accounting
+ Strong financial modeling and analysis skills, particularly in ROI/value creation frameworks
+ Deep understanding of capital budgeting, financial statements, and investment evaluation
+ Advanced Excel proficiency; able to build and maintain robust models
+ Demonstrated experience evaluating investment opportunities, including both physical assets (e.g., infrastructure, racking, forklifts) and IT projects (e.g., SAP upgrades, mobile app development)
+ Ability to work independently and proactively drive initiatives with minimal oversight
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills—must be able to translate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and senior executives
+ Experience operating in a large, matrixed corporate environment
+ Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; able to influence and partner with business leaders
+ Familiarity with and ability to ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies, GAAP/IFRS, and financial governance standards
**Preferred Skills & Backgrounds -**
+ Prior experience managing or mentoring a Financial Analyst
+ Background in Big 4, FP&A, or corporate finance within a Fortune 500 or similarly complex environment
+ Familiarity with capital investment frameworks and value measurement methodologies
+ Experience working with SAP, Anaplan, or similar enterprise systems
+ CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification
+ Demonstrated ability to build financial processes from scratch or rebuild underperforming functions
+ Experience with post-investment reviews, ROI tracking dashboards, and capital allocation tools
+ Exposure to digital transformation initiatives (e.g., evaluating tech or platform investments)
**Job Summary**
Responsible for partnering with management to set the financial and strategic business goals to drive the business, and serve as a financial thought partner in the daily management and decision making required to meet and exceed the team’s financial goals. Provide financial strategy development and implementation; planning and forecasting; and analysis/reporting. Serve as a strategic team member, driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and working closely with the business to achieve goals and create shareholder value.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities**
+ Serves as the financial leader in annual reviews, developing multi-year financial plans and profitability metrics and key investment decisions. Provides reporting and analyses of financial results weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
+ Identifies and implements process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budget and reviews monthly expenditures and metrics to ensure budgetary goals are met.
+ Leads and supports the strategic planning process and working with functional team to develop strategic and operational plans.
+ Conducts financial planning for function and makes appropriate recommendations.
+ Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams to ensure effective performance of financial functions/activities. Utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures comply with established policies.
+ Drives key functional financial metrics.
+ Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues, enhancing competitive advantage and facilitating communication with other areas of the business.
**Nature and Scope**
+ Solutions require analysis and investigation.
+ Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
+ Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
**Work Environment**
+ Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
+ Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
+ Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
**Education and Experience**
+ Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
