Finance Manager
**Description:** This role will support the Director of Finance in implementing and overseeing all aspects of the finance department and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and maximize the profitability of the hotel. Will support all activities performed by the Director of Finance, including but not limited to, understanding and driving financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and month-end closing activities, coordinating and reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform System of Accounts and Hyatt policies and procedures. The role will ensure a smooth operation of all hotel finance activities in full compliance with the policy, regulatory, and contractual framework. The role will business partner with all hotel finance team members and the Leadership Committee team and support the Director of Finance in developing excellent working relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including Commercial, IT, Procurement/Purchasing, Operations, Shared Service Centers, Owners, and Asset Managers as well as Regional Operations Finance. **Qualifications:** + Review journal entries, Prepare month-end reports, and reconciliations + Supervise Finance staff including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, training, and evaluating the performance of staff. + Assist in overseeing hotel on-site Finance functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel. + Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, inventories, monthly closings, internal audit, AML and general compliance + Assist with managing and ensuring SOX, GAAP, PCI, and USALI compliance + Assist with completing the year-end audit process. Review all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance. + Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review, and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department heads in this process. Take the initiative to manage troubleshooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement + Conduct or ensure all Training and Evaluations are completed as required by Hyatt + Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt Service Standards and Procedures and the ability to manage and develop staff + Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate + Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems + Ability to help develop problem-solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate + Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize, and implement all elements required for the team to fulfill responsibilities + Detail-oriented and organized + Complete various additional tasks and assignments as needed **Primary Location:** TT-TTI-Port of Spain **Organization:** Hyatt Regency Trinidad **Pay Basis:** Yearly **Job Level:** Full-time **Job:** Accounting/Finance/Tax **Req ID:** POR002261 Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
