Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the various hotel accounting functions and supports the hotel Assistant Director of Finance/Director of Finance. This position is responsible for the efficient running of the hotel's Finance Department’s Day to day operations, maintaining internal controls, partnering with managers on expense management and general ledger operations, providing training to finance team members and special projects as assigned, in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. Other responsibilities will include the following

Position Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

• Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations.

• Manage on-site and off-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely reporting, and comprehensive financial analysis, including budgeting, planning, accounting, and cash management.

• Prepare and review journal entries, month-end reports, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data through regular audits.

• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, investigate and analyze variances, and address cost controls and revenue enhancements proactively.

• Review preliminary financial statements with the Assistant Director of Finance/Director of Finance and participate in monthly financial reviews, supporting the presentation of reports.

• Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, monthly closings, and PL reporting

• Provide insights on key financial metrics, variances, and trends to support strategic decision-making

• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and timely delivery of required documentation.

• Monitor internal controls to safeguard hotel assets, ensure SOX compliance, and implement corrective measures as necessary.

• Support the Director of Finance with special reporting and ad hoc analyses and all requests as needed.

Qualifications

· Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred.

· 5–8 years of progressive hotel operations experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.

· Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English

· Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the hospitality industry

· Experiencesupervising/directing staff members

· Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

· Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting system use (Oracle Preferred)

· Prior POS (Simphony, Infrasys), PMS (Opera), Oracle, ADP/Enterprise, Kronos, expertise desired

· Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information along with high levels of accuracy and efficiency.

· Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

· Must comply with all company and financial regulations.

· Previous experience with international hospitality brands preferred.
