Role Purpose: To provide leadership to the General Ledger Team including ownership of the account’s preparation process for management, group and statutory reporting. Taking the lead on VAT and Corporation Tax reporting and all Finance compliance tasks. Management and development of General Ledger team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance & Governance
General Ledger Management Lead month-end reporting for the GL team ensuring accurate and timely completion. Own the accounts preparation process for management, group, and statutory reporting. Ensure accurate month-end close processes including balance sheet reviews. Manage quarterly IFRS/UK GAAP compliant balance sheet preparation. Support quarterly group reporting within Magnitude. Oversee working capital sign-offs and KPI deck production.
Reporting & Performance Management Produce monthly working capital KPI packs for the finance team. Ensure high-quality balance sheet output with clear commentary. Support timely delivery of group reporting bundles and statutory deliverables. Improve reporting accuracy through continuous improvement initiatives.
Process & Systems Optimisation Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes. Support audit and compliance process enhancements. Support operational efficiency and sustainable growth initiatives. Ensure consistent and high-quality accounting process execution.
Leadership & People Development Lead and develop the General Ledger team. Support business projects requiring GL / financial control expertise. Drive high performance and continuous improvement.
Ad Hoc & Strategic Support Support the Head of Finance with financial control or compliance projects. Act as a bank signatory in line with finance policy. Support back-office improvement initiatives.
Experience & Skills Required
Proven financial management experience Experience with process automation and continuous improvement methodologies Knowledge of working capital optimisation and cash management Familiarity with FLEX processes or similar governance frameworks Experience supporting external and internal audit functions Experience of working within a large international group Experience of delivering change and transformation programmes within a shared service centre environment. Leadership/development of a finance team Effective communicator and influencer, both verbal and written, to peers, business partners and senior managers
Qualifications Required:
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
