Finance Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a leading organisation in Milton Keynes, offering a clear and accelerated path towards a Financial Controller position. This role is perfect for an experienced finance professional who is eager to broaden their expertise across financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit management, and tax compliance. You will be at the heart of the finance function, working closely with the Financial Controller.

Oversee the entire fixed asset lifecycle including identification, creation, depreciation, retirement, disposal, and ensure accurate accounting for both tangible and intangible assets in line with US-GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP standards. Manage lease accounting under IFRS 16 by identifying leases, calculating obligations, preparing reports, and reassessing agreements as required. Evaluate triggers for asset impairment, calculate necessary adjustments, approve entries, and communicate outcomes to relevant departments while maintaining control over the physical asset register. Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by reconciling sub-ledgers and general ledgers to ensure accuracy in all financial statements. Prepare journal entries including exceptional journals, allocations, recoveries; perform balance sheet reconciliations; manage foreign exchange valuations; and process accruals and rebates promptly. Oversee intercompany trade controlling by managing disputes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and settlements between entities. Facilitate period-end reporting through preparation of trial balances, extraction of financial statements, providing insightful commentary on results. Coordinate group close processes by defining close calendars, ensuring timely data submission from all stakeholders, conducting variance analysis, consolidating submissions for parent company reporting. Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with regulatory requirements and manage external audits for both management and statutory accounts. Continually review compliance with evolving accounting standards while supporting business units during internal and external audit processes.
