Job Summary:
This management role is responsible for managing and driving the local finance department to excellence in regards to all FP&A related tasks, the liaison to the Shared service team and financial compliance. This role is part of site management team and represents the Finance Business Partner for the local functional leaders (with focus on manufacturing).
Leads and develops the local finance team.
Full responsibility for financial integrity and compliance of statutory and US-GAAP BS and P&L for supported legal entities.
Responsible for the financial performance of the supported site and the strategic planning process that sets the financial direction.
Responsible for planning, staffing and reporting of site related activities (i.e., forecasting, budgeting, ME/QE/YE closing, product costing, ad hocs,..).
Drives the continued development and business alignment of the financial systems.
Challenges the status quo and recommends/implements cost improvement opportunities/projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategies
- Key member of site leadership team that formulates & executes strategic objectives, to drive strategy & future direction.
- Business partner for local management and responsible for driving and managing the financial performance of the plant.
- Supports the strategic planning process that sets financial direction for the supported site with financial KPIs and acts as a sparring partner for local functional leaders.
- Build organizational capability to develop & constructively challenge business plans & financial models to identify key value drivers.
- Develop relationships & influence key senior leaders on site level and across Stryker
Management
- Manage the local finance team including recruitment, training & development and performance management
- Supports the local finance and plant leadership team to reach assigned goals and targets.
- Sets overall departmental goals and priorities and evaluates subordinate’s performance based on those goals and priorities.
- Responsible and accountable for actions promoting an environment that fosters personal growth and development.

Finance Business Partner
- Sets up/maintains a compliant internal control environment in agreement to Stryker, US-GAAP and statutory laws, policies and guidelines.
- Acts as contact for business-related issues at a local and cross-site management level, as well as for external stakeholders (e.g. auditors).
- Gives direction on and coordinates the development, implementation and optimization of new and existing controlling processes and instruments.
- Drives cost leverage and cost reductions for supported sites to improve operating results.
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the facility within the timelines set out and provide financial commentary on the same.
- Responsible for the preparation of the sites annual budget, aligned to the site and network specific strategy/intent, and interprets and communicates the results.
- Responsible for the preparation of the site’s financial projections throughout the year and provide the site and finance leadership team with a financial commentary on the associated risks and opportunities.
- Responsible for the setting of the annual product costs in accordance with local accounting regulations and US-GAAP
- Responsible for the preparation, interpretation and targeted communication of meaningful analyses and business plans to support the decision-making
- Develops and implements new concepts, tools and standards on a site and production network level.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives
- Maintains the integrity of supporting financial systems, and sponsors the continuous improvement, development and business alignment of these systems.
- Develops and maintains effective business relationships with financial leaders and other constituents in SGS, GQO, Corporate office and commercial enterprises.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities including, but not limited to, CER processes, standard costing practices, financial accounting standardization, allocation methodologies, cost transformation
Minimum Education:
8 Years position specific work experience preferably in a multi-national, FDA regulated manufacturing environment.
