Finance Manager, SCOT Finance
Amazon.com
Amazon has the world’s most complex supply chain: we fulfill global demand for hundreds of millions of products at lightning fast delivery speeds. A core part of the operations is forecasting: We forecast the demand of hundreds of millions of products up to a year into the future. The forecasts are used to automatically order hundreds of millions worth of inventory weekly, decide where to place that inventory, and to establish labor plans for hundreds of warehouses.
The Finance Manager, ASIN Forecasting will work with the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) Forecasting team and both business and finance stakeholders worldwide to identify incremental savings, performance improvement and risk mitigation opportunities; and to develop structural mechanisms for identifying opportunities and driving improved performance of Forecasting models.
The candidate will develop management reporting and insights to highlight business performance improvement opportunities, based on the actionable business inputs driving topline and bottomline performance. The candidate will also work with finance and business leadership to ensure their understanding, and to capture feedback on reporting as well as potential forecasting model improvements. This role will work closely with senior finance and business leaders, economists, research scientists, project managers, software developers and regional finance teams. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain performance measurements on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.
The position is also the primary Finance POC for the SCOT organization's IMR process, including reporting and presenting monthly results and developing annual plans to drive savings and increase ROI for the IMR spend.
Key job responsibilities
Approximately 70% of the role is finance partner for the ASIN Forecasting team:
- Reviewing and validating economic models and analytics, ensuring initiatives are traceable to financial metrics and resource allocations are justified.
