SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Summary:

 The Finance Manager leads, directs and controls the utilization of local finance resources in order to drive the short- and long-term performance of the company. The role supports and advises local management in operational decision-making processes by providing insights on opportunities and risks as well as the respective financial impact. This role manages and oversees all financial activities in the country to ensure that the organization’s short- and long-term business objectives are achieved in compliance with local regulations, internal controls and group policies. The Finance Manager to ensure continuous improvements of finance related processes and information systems. The role includes leading and building the team.

  

Essential Functions:

Provides financial information which supports the Managing Director in making business decisions in line with Regional & local strategies Develop, analyze and present financial results and performance to the local management Support budget holders on preparing operating budgets and capex plans  Perform post close reviews, ensure balance sheet accuracy and reports Lead and support closing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting process, as per BC requirement Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls, financial systems and financial procedures Setup Risk management and controls Responsible for Financial Business cases for various strategic projects and its execution Drive continuous improvement initiatives regarding processes, policies, technology and organization Responsible of all tax declaration and annual statement (both statutory and IFRS) Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile Support external auditors on conducting interim and yearly audits (both statutory and group) including dispute resolutions Maintain and manage tax regulatory relationships / Manage tax audits including dispute resolutions Advise on the tax implications of business development/restructuring Coordinate and build local banks relationships / oversees collection and payment processes (payment factory) Ensures comprehensive and constructive performance reviews are completed annually; career planning and development plans are in place for all finance staff Represent the company to financial partners, including auditors, public officials, banks, lawyers, etc

Scope:

BC Ecuador facilities: Dry & Cleaning operation center in Durán, Administrative office at Arcos Plaza Vía Samborondón and Cocoa Farm in Cerecita.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Work Experience:

Bachelor’s / master’s in finance, Accounting or Economics. Chartered Accounting degree is a plus Spanish & English business proficiency (written and spoken) SAP expertise

Additional Requirements: 

5-10 years of holistic financial managerial experience in Ecuador, with rich experience in accounting, tax, funding and local regulatory requirements Must have experience in a multinational company or multicultural environment Superior leadership experience Capacity to lead transformation and drive change Commodity market, Terminal Markets / Hedging instruments knowledge is a plus Experience in agricultural/ soft commodity is preferred Detail oriented Ability to drive change through impact & influence

Finance functions in other entities/ countries within Barry Callebaut Group  Commercial functions or local managerial functions (e.g. Sourcing / Commercial Manager or Managing Director) within Barry Callebaut Ecuador.
