Finance Business Partner Job Description: - Form a strong partnership with the business leadership team. A trusted advisor and hands on partner to support and challenge the business to achieve maximum results - Effectively use financial information to provide the business with better insight into business performance and trajectory and opportunities for growth - Drive optimization of P&L performance and manage to Sage financial metrics - Lead improvements in delivering business predictability through a robust forecasting and review framework - Ensure high quality and consistent financial reporting to the business and the Sage Group - Support the business in developing and executing on an effective business strategy; and in the planning and budgeting process - Build and review business cases and ensure that the right commercial decisions are made for the Sage Group - Help build a resourcing framework and focus on placing investment towards areas with the highest propensity for growth and profitability; help develop sales metrics which clearly identify productivity opportunities - Play an active role in driving for change and continuous improvement in the business and within finance; identify areas that require improvement and look to disrupt - Collaborate effectively with other functional finance leaders to ensure that financial processes are running effectively and that the region meets internal Sage governance and also external compliance guidelines This is a hybrid role 3 day per week from our office in Toronto. Key Responsibilities: Summary of Role As a Finance Business Partner at Sage, you’ll be a trusted advisor to business leaders, supporting them to drive growth, profitability, and strategic decisions. You’ll combine your financial expertise with strong business insight to influence decisions that deliver results. What I Will Be Doing You’ll work closely with commercial leaders to build budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis that guide business decisions. You’ll use financial data to provide clear insights into business performance, identify growth opportunities, and optimise P&L outcomes. You’ll help shape business strategy, review investment decisions, and develop sales metrics that highlight productivity opportunities. In this role, you’ll ensure high-quality financial reporting, maintain robust forecasting frameworks, support continuous improvement initiatives, and drive better predictability and performance across the business. You’ll also collaborate with other finance teams to ensure compliance, effective controls, and streamlined financial processes. What We Are Looking For We’re looking for someone with a bachelor’s degree (CPA designation is an asset) and at least 5 years of finance experience, ideally within a SaaS business. You should have strong business partnering skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insights. You’ll need excellent analytical and technical skills, including experience with data tools like SQL or Python and systems like Excel, HFM, Adaptive, Salesforce, and Power BI. You’ll be curious, driven, resilient, and passionate about making an impact, with great communication skills to influence and build relationships across the business. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree is required for the position (required); CPA Designation (asset) • Minimum 5 years of experience. SaaS experience in a SaaS-based business in finance or performance analytics role would be an asset. • Business partnering experience with ability to build strong collaborative relationships within the business and across Finance pillars • Commercial & can demonstrate great business understanding, analytical and with a real eye for detail.
