Finance Business Partner, IT
The Role at a Glance As the Finance Business Partner, IT, you will collaborate closely with IT leadership to guide financial planning, monitor project budgets, and ensure alignment with corporate strategies. You will help shape accounting policies, analyze performance data, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending financial expertise with strategic business partnership in a tech-driven environment. Strategic: + Manage the Approval Request Systems (ARS) process for the IT group by reviewing and approving all costing and other aspects of ARS requests prior to submission. + Advise IT leadership on all decisions having a financial impact on the Company, by providing opinions and analyses to support various decisions. + Advise EVP/SVP/VP on content of all EC presentations. + Based on independent analysis, advise IT leadership of trends to point out opportunities/ weaknesses in financial performance. + Assist in brainstorming with IT leadership on tactics to improve the financial performance of the Company. + Ad hoc analyses to assist in the decision-making process. Tactical (primary tasks): + Lead the annual planning process. + Manage service charges. + Manage repairs. + Manage IT fixed assets. + Manage headcount. + Period Close process. + Cost tracking for all IT related projects, including post-audits. + Manage prepaid and accrual accounts. + Perform physical inventories for repair facilities. + Manage software licensing requirements for company purchases. + Manage computer-related purchases for the company to ensure compliance with standards and alignment with budget constraints. + Develop and implement processes to handle IT assets more efficiently and effectively. Core Finance Business Partner Competencies/Accountabilities: + Provides guidance and advice to CIO, VP, Directors, and Managers on all financial matters concerning IT. Strategic planning: + Participate in strategic questions and analysis to formulate strategic plans. + Compile 3-year strategic plan from input from EC and CEO Team, update periodically. + Compile detailed operating plans, including strategies and tactics. + Update operating plan and quarterly LE's. + Prepare changes for each Period, Quarter and Year End Close. + Prepare rolling forecasts between planning cycles. + Prepare Board presentations for planning cycles. Period close: + Manage balance sheet accounts and accruals. + Perform variance analysis from budgeted results. + Investigate and report unusual balances. + Prepare period presentation/KPI reporting to CEO Team. + Coordinate various discussions around operating results. + Present status to the IT department and communication needed actions. + Review and certify SEC filings (10-Qs and 10-K); same certification signed by VPs + Review and monitor all spending: + Review/coordinate ARS system processes. + Perform/facilitate IRR/TCO (total cost of ownership) analysis. + Manage and coordinate all IT project post audits with quarterly reporting for the EC. + Ensure compliance with the disbursement policy. + Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures; communicate and enforce the appropriate accounting treatment for various transactions within functional areas. + Perform ad hoc analysis as requested. + Work cross-functionally with all other Finance Business Partners to ensure a strategic plan is achieved. + Attend Finance Business Partner meetings to increase knowledge of AutoZone activities and communicate new information from functional areas. + Dual reporting responsibilities - Finance and IT. + Supervise 6 Direct Reports and 2 Indirect Report What We’re Looking For + Education: You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting AND an MBA or master’s in accountancy + Experience: You bring 15+ years of professional Accounting / Finance experience + Analytical Skills: You possess strong analytical, interpersonal, human relations and communication skills.
