Responsibilities:
Duties
Maintain good relations with the public, including answering phones, providing assistance and ; referring callers/visitors to appropriate staff or departments.
Review all checks and invoices for accuracy.
Assist with reconciling monthly bank statements and other financial accounts.
Attend Board and Commission meetings as needed and assist the City Clerk/Treasurer with the accumulation of information and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist with payroll, payroll taxes and reporting.
Assists the City Clerk/Treasurer in preparation for the annual audit of the City?s financial statements and other financial audits performed by federal, state, local or other government entities.
Prepare various financial reports when needed requested by the City Treasurer or Mayor.
Assist with grant application and monitoring processes, including the accumulation and preparation of financial information as required, as well as assist with the accumulation and preparation of financial data required for reports submitted to federal, state, local or other governmental entities FEMA financial documentation.
May be required to work overtime, alternate hours, weekends, and attend evening meetings. This is an on-site position; remote work may be permitted on an exception basis.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

1. An Associates Degree in Accounting or higher is preferred.
2. Three (3) or more years' experience performing financial and accounting functions in an office setting.
3. Experience with accounting software and computer information program systems and
proficient in Word, Excel, Power point, QuickBooks, and related accounting and
financial applications.
4.Excellent verbal/written communications skills.
