SCOPE OF WORK:
The Finance Assistant reports to the Finance Officer. She/he supports the Finance Team in managing all aspects of day-to-day operations of the finance department in the Field office, He/she will assist in the implementation of Finance policies, procedures, and systems and ensure compliance with IRC procedures and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
•Assist with making payments to suppliers, contractors, and program staff based on approved documents and in line with authority delineation;
•Ensure scrutiny of the entire bill for accuracy and receipt of goods and other documentation before processing payment.
•Submits payments to the bank for processing;
•Be responsible for documentation and preparation of cash vouchers for all cash transactions related to the station office, cash count preparation;
•Ensure all transactions follow IRC accounting policy, Donor restriction, and generally accepted accounting principles;
•Maintain confidentiality of all financial and other job-related information;
•Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial documents;
•Accurate performing day-to-day financial records in accordance with budget codes and implement internal control procedures per IRC policies and procedures;
•Reviewing travel expenses reports for national employees, monthly reflecting Travel Expenses in Integra;
•Monthly Preparing Incentive Workers Payroll and reviewing all related finance documentation;
•Checking corporate card reports and receipts related to Emergency case management found;
•Checking the availability of documents and archiving;
•Participation in the collection of documents for the audit;
•Execution of other instructions from the Finance Officer.
Finance/Budgeting
•Act always following local law and standards of accounting practice;
•Review the budget to gain a clear understanding of budget guidelines and instructions;
•Review funding allocations to enable proper guidance to programs and proper coding;
•Provide training to program staff on finance issues;
•Produce monthly and quarterly reports to be reviewed by your supervisor.
Common duties
•Follow any new procedures and guidelines designated in circulars from Country Director
•Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor
Requirements
Diploma in Accounts or bachelor’s degree in accounting from a recognized College/Institutions.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience. Computer literate with significant knowledge/experience in excel. Experience of INGO will be an advantage.
Skills

Languages Requirements: Fluency in Ukrainian and English.

Works closely with: Partnership teams and Operation teams, Program teams.
Indirect Reporting: Finance Manager
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
There is active conflict in parts of the country and a possibility for further expansion of the conflict and violence in other areas. Staff must comply with all IRC security policies and procedures applicable to international staff. Security will be thoroughly discussed during the interview process.
•This role requires full-time work in the office. Hybrid schedule could be agreed with direct and technical supervisors.
•Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace so they can effectively complete their work during regularly scheduled work hours.
•Travel to other locations is possible.
•Exempt from overtime.
•Sometimes work on weekends may be required (overtime hours will be provided as a time off).
•Work in the matrix organization.
•Fast pace of working, multitasking and stressful work.
