JOB PURPOSE:
The Finance Analytics Platform Administrator (FAPA) is responsible for the maintenance, usability, and governance of the finance analytics workspaces within the Microsoft Fabric and Power BI platform under the Global Finance Solutions (GFS) domain. The role ensures that data is consistently and efficiently directed into datasets and semantic models, while also ensuring that reports within the analytics layer are well-managed, refreshed timely, and aligned with governance and performance standards. The FAPA collaborates closely with the data modelers and analysts, the GFS Data Warehouse team, and Global Technology & Digital Solutions (GTD) to ensure a seamless transition of data from upstream layers into analytics. The FAPA plays a key role in dataset documentation, user onboarding, and basic troubleshooting within the analytics workspaces. This role supports governance by enforcing workspace best practices, monitoring usage, and helping ensure that data assets are accessible, trusted, and ready for reporting and analysis.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Platform Operations and Administration
Manage and monitor GFS analytics workspaces in Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI, including workspace configuration, permission settings, capacity management, and overall platform performance.Conduct performance testing and validation of artifacts in pre-production to minimize production issues.Collaborate with GTD to ensure compliance with governance policies and support ongoing platform configuration needs.Refresh Management and Artifact Maintenance
Oversee data refresh schedules across GFS workspaces and coordinate with data modelers, report creators, and the Data Warehouse team to optimize refresh timing, reduce redundancy, and avoid capacity overloads.Monitor refresh failures, flag misconfigurations, and manage Power BI gateway integrations to ensure consistent and stable operations aligned with platform standards.Semantic Model Development and Support
Assist the Business Analytics & Data Modeling team in building semantic models and datasets for analytics use.Lead the application of performance optimization, scripting, and testing to ensure the models meet production-readiness standards and align with performance, usability, and governance expectations.Innovation and User Enablement
Research and evaluate new Power BI and Microsoft Fabric features to support platform improvement and adoption.Collaborate with GTD to test and enable relevant capabilities.Support user enablement by creating documentation, delivering training, onboarding users, and providing guidance on best practices.Gather user feedback and monitor usage to inform enhancements and promote self-service analytics.Governance and Compliance
Implement workspace naming conventions, lifecycle management rules, dataset certification, and periodic access reviews.Maintain an inventory of analytics workspace artifacts to track ownership, usage, and lifecycle stage.REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in IT, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science or related course.Proven knowledge in using Business Intelligence tools preferably PowerBIStrong technical skills in Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written at all levels with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail: ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.Strong communication and coordination skills to engage with different stakeholders.Experience in PowerBI or Microsoft Fabric environments, including 1 year in platform administration or governance Experience with other business intelligence tools or financial software (e.g. OLAP, Datawarehouse, Dashboards) and reporting tools Experience working in a cross-functional data environment, especially within finance or enterprise analytics domains Experience managing PowerBI gateways, optimizing resource configurations, and collaborating with IT for platform integration and complianceCertification in Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, or Azure Data Fundamentals is a strong advantageWorking knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and semantic modelling best practicesUnderstanding of Azure Active Directory, row-level security and PowerBI tenant settingsAbility to deliver training, documentation, and platform support to both technical and non-technical usersApplicant Types Accepted:
