Finance Analyst I-PD
Overview The Finance Analyst I supports GSUH’s annual budgeting, forecast, and month-end close processes. Primary responsibilities include accurate budget data entry into Strata Decision Technology, running Strata reports, and reconciling financial data to the general ledger. The role requires intermediate Excel proficiency, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines. Job Details Budget Data Entry: Enter departmental budgets and updates into Strata accurately and on schedule. Report Generation: Run standard and ad-hoc budget, variance, and utilization reports from Strata for finance leadership and service-line managers. Data Reconciliation: Reconcile Strata budget data to the general ledger and other source systems; investigate and explain variances. Month-End Support: Assist with journal entries, accruals, and variance analyses during close. Excel Modeling: Build and maintain workbooks (v-lookups, pivot tables, basic macros) to streamline reporting and analysis. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and enhance data integrity. Collaboration: Partner with clinical and operational leaders to gather inputs and clarify budget assumptions. Compliance & Confidentiality: Adhere to CHS/GSUH financial policies, internal controls, and confidentiality standards. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. 0–2 years of relevant finance or accounting experience (healthcare preferred but not required). Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (functions, pivot tables, v-lookups; introductory macros a plus). Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new financial systems; prior exposure to Strata or other EPM software desirable. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
