About this opportunity:

We are looking for a financial analyst to join our Canadian Refining Finance team.  Reporting to the Team Lead, the Financial Analyst will support the Lloyd Refinery and Canadian Downstream Terminals through strong financial analysis and business partnership. This role contributes to accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and long-range planning, while supporting cost tracking, variance analysis, and adherence to plan. The successful candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable, and results-driven, with strong communication skills.

This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area

The successful candidate will work in the Lloydminster Refinery OCC Building

What you’ll do:

Complete monthly accounting and analysis activities, including reviewing results and variances.

Ensure financial controls are in place and operating effectively.

Support business unit and corporate initiatives through analysis and collaboration.

Act as a point of contact for corporate processes, working with multiple stakeholder groups.

Support the development of the long-range plan and monthly forecasts.

Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial, and Optimization teams to understand business decisions and their impact on operational and financial results.

Ensure financial statements accurately reflect business activities and comply with IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Support the identification and management of operational risks related to Downstream accounting.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Accounting.

A minimum of two years of financial analysis experience is required

Professional Accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.

Experience as a Power BI reporting superuser is an asset.

Strong working knowledge of SAP and/or other financial reporting systems.
