As a Finance Analyst, you will play an integral role in supporting the UK Financial Reporting team by delivering timely and accurate financial analysis that informs key business decisions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing profit and loss accounts for several airport locations, developing insights into revenue streams and cost structures, finalising month-end accounts through detailed journal postings, and collaborating closely with both operational staff on-site and colleagues within the broader finance function. You will also be responsible for completing VAT returns, assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, overseeing employee expense processes, and administering the expense management system. Success in this role will require you to combine strong technical skills with excellent interpersonal abilities—ensuring that you can communicate complex information clearly while building positive relationships across departments. Your attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and enthusiasm for learning will be key assets as you contribute to ongoing improvements within the team.
Take ownership of profit and loss accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout each reporting cycle. Develop a thorough understanding of revenue streams as well as all associated costs for each location under your remit. Finalise monthly profit and loss statements by reviewing and posting journal entries related to accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and more while liaising with base managers as needed. Partner closely with operations teams at the airports as well as colleagues in the wider finance function to ensure effective communication and shared understanding of financial performance. Complete VAT returns and reconciliations as assigned, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations at all times. Assist the Finance Manager with balance sheet clean-up activities to ensure accurate financial records are maintained. Oversee daily employee expenses checking, recoding transactions if necessary, approving or rejecting claims based on careful review, and assisting employees with any queries they may have. Manage the employee expense management system as an administrator, posting all expenses via journal entry under the correct legal entity on a monthly basis. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team by identifying areas for process enhancement and contributing positively to team projects. What you bring:
