The Filler Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production duties, contributing to customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. This position involves setting up, operating, cleaning, and troubleshooting production equipment, while strictly following standard operating procedures. The Filler Operator supports the manufacture of dairy-related products, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesAchieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.Operate filling equipment, including setup, prestart, startup, operation, shutdown, and cleaning, in accordance with standard operating procedures.Troubleshoot equipment following established procedures and notify others of mechanical malfunctions.Engage in CIP processes, including chemical input temperature and time controls, and monitor COP, including manual washing of equipment.Maintain production schedules, meet order expectations, monitor variances, and report out-of-spec issues.Clear jam-ups and restore production line operation.Comply with GMPs, SOPs, and corporate/plant policies, rules, and regulations.Utilize the inventory control system for proper inventory updates and detail lookup.Perform ongoing product quality control checks.Support all production facility areas as assigned and train in key production areas.Gain competence in online circuits and ensure proper facility hookups.Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs as assigned.Comply with all legal dairy processing and safety requirements, reporting concerns to supervisors.Work safely and report safety concerns promptly, taking corrective actions as necessary.Report food safety problems, initiate actions, and support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality.Ensure direct reports' duties are covered during absences and act as a backup as necessary.Maintain sanitary work areas and adhere to sanitation practices.Communicate effectively between shifts and departments.
Essential SkillsExperience in visual inspection and quality control.General production skills.Ability to operate filling machines and handle general labor tasks.Strong understanding of safety and sanitation practices.

Work Environment
This role operates in an FDA-regulated environment with shifts of 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, covering 365 days a year. The night shift runs from 6 PM to 6:30 AM. The dress code includes a company uniform and steel-toed shoes, which can be purchased affordably. The company is a fourth-generation, family-owned producer and distributor of various dairy products, working with over 250 local family farms and operating multiple manufacturing facilities in Central New York.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $24.50/hr.
