Figure Skating Coordinator - Morgan Park Sports Center

Job Title: Figure Skating Coordinator
Reports To: Facility Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried – Exempt

Position Summary:

The Figure Skating Coordinator at Morgan Park Sports Center is responsible for the development, organization, and supervision of figure skating programs at Morgan Park Sports Center. This role includes planning and executing classes, managing coaching staff, coordinating competitions and events, and ensuring a safe and positive environment for skaters of all ages and skill levels. The coordinator will be the key liaison between the facility, skating coaches, parents, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and oversee all figure skating programs including Learn to Skate, private lessons, camps, and clinics.

Recruit, train, and supervise skating coaches and support staff.

Ensure compliance with U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) and Learn to Skate USA guidelines.

Organize and coordinate skating exhibitions, competitions, test sessions, and special events.

Develop programming marketing strategies in collaboration with the facility’s marketing team.

Monitor program registrations and participant feedback to assess and improve offerings.

Maintain accurate schedules, payroll records, and budget tracking for skating programs.

Provide exceptional customer service to skaters, parents, and guests.

Enforce rink safety standards and facility policies.

Represent Morgan Park Sports Center at local skating events and maintain relationships with USFS and other figure skating organizations.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years experience in figure skating instruction, program coordination, or management.

Coaching certification through USFS and/or Learn to Skate USA preferred.

Strong knowledge of figure skating disciplines, coaching methods, and event planning.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Activenet, outlook, excel sheet, and other computer desk platforms.

Background in choreography or competitive skating.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
