Journeyman or Apprentice Welder

Job Description

Join our team as a Welder, where you will be engaged in a variety of structural steel erection projects in the field. Your role will encompass off-loading and handling incoming steel, erecting steel for structural and miscellaneous metals, bolting and impacting, and welding as required. You will also position steel, align holes, and ensure proper bolt-up locations. Additionally, you may assist with rigging and setting building modules. This position requires comfort working at heights and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Off-load and handle incoming steel materials.Erect structural steel and miscellaneous metals.Perform bolting, impacting, and required welding tasks.Position steel accurately for alignment of holes and bolt-up locations.Assist with rigging and setting of building modules as needed.Ensure safety and compliance while working at heights and in various weather conditions.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in SMAW welding in at least three positions.Minimum of 2 years' experience in field welding in industrial or commercial construction.Knowledge of fall-protection and AWP.Ability to interpret blueprints and work with structural steel and as an ironworker.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with commercial construction.Experience as an ironworker.Intermediate First-Aid certification.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted at one of five locations, primarily brand new school construction sites in their initial stages. The project duration is approximately 2 to 2.5 months, with potential for permanent employment based on performance. The team size ranges from 5 to 10 individuals, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols. Shifts are Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 4:30 pm, with a shorter shift on Fridays. Be prepared to work in all weather conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
