**Position Summary:**
Xylem is seeking a motivated and adaptable Field Technician to join our team in delivering critical water infrastructure insights to customers across the U.S. In this hands-on role, you’ll operate pipeline inspection equipment in real-world field environments, gather high-value data, and help ensure the structural integrity of water systems. You’ll prepare, deploy, and troubleshoot complex tools on-site, often working in variable outdoor conditions and tight spaces. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with prior field, shop, or construction experience who are ready to grow their careers by solving water.

**Core Responsibilities:**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
+ Assess the condition of water pipelines using proprietary inspection technology and monitor pipelines for deterioration
+ Operate equipment and perform field work with minimal supervision
+ Assist in planning inspections, preparing documentation, and organizing equipment for deployment
+ Review design drawings, create planning documents, test monitoring tools, and submit timesheets and expense reports
+ Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety meetings, evaluating risks during project planning, and taking corrective action on site
+ Think proactively to anticipate problems and adapt quickly to resolve challenges during inspection projects
+ Act as both a leader and a team player depending on the needs of the project
+ Provide constructive feedback on quality, efficiency, and process improvement to maintain industry leadership
**Qualifications & Experience:**
+ High school diploma or GED required
+ Minimum 3 years of prior experience in a field, shop, or construction environment
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
+ Ability to understand technical procedures and provide feedback
+ Ability to read or learn to read construction drawings and maps
+ Basic math skills
+ Strong organizational and time-management abilities
+ Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
+ Proven ability to work safely and collaboratively on job sites
+ Comfortable working in confined spaces and variable weather conditions
+ Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driver background check
+ Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
**The position requires up to 75% travel, including overnight stays.**
**Compensation:**
Starting pay is $28-$32 an hour and is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
