The Role
As a Field Specialist IV - ISDT (Intervention, Stimulation, Drilling Tools) based in Brunei, you will specialize in fishing and downhole operations, applying advanced techniques and procedures for complex wellbore interventions. In this senior-level role, you will use your extensive ISDT knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve challenging downhole issues, lead fishing operations, and act as the key technical interface with clients at well sites. You'll manage complex fishing jobs and downhole tool operations while providing direction to junior specialists and ensuring successful wellbore remediation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead complex fishing operations and downhole interventions, planning strategies for stuck pipe, lost tools, and wellbore obstructions. Operate specialized ISDT equipment including fishing tools, jars, mills, and cutting devices while performing real-time downhole analysis. Act as key technical interface with clients, conducting pre-job planning meetings and managing fishing operations. Mentor junior Field Specialists and perform engineering calculations for tool selection and operational parameters. Maintain corporate governance standards, ensuring compliance with Company HSE policies and industry regulations. Analyze downhole data to optimize operations, lead failure investigations, and provide technical recommendations. Document operations with detailed reports, participate in safety meetings, and maintain equipment inventory. Available 24-hour on-call for emergency fishing situations while developing strong client relationships.Requirements
Essential:
4-6 years Oil & Gas industry experience with mandatory ISDT (fishing/downhole) operations background. High School Diploma with strong fundamentals in downhole mechanics, hydraulics, and wellbore dynamics. Extensive knowledge of fishing tools, jars, mills, and specialized ISDT equipment. Proficiency in fishing software, downhole modeling programs, and mathematical reasoning for load calculations. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for complex downhole challenges. Physical capability for heavy ISDT equipment handling and challenging field conditions.Preferred:
Technical Certificate from accredited Technical/Vocational School. Experience with Weatherford ISDT product lines and specialized fishing certifications.Work Schedule & Additional Requirements:
6 days on / 6 days off rotation schedule. Service orientation with strong client relationship management during critical operations. Ability to work under pressure during emergency fishing situations.
